Fairfield Electric Cooperative registered 3,881 members during its 2022 Annual Meeting Drive-Thru registration held May 16th - May 20thWith the bylaw changes members approved last year, this was the first year single member voting districts were in effect. Members only vote for the trustee in their district and all members vote for the District At Large.

Members re-elected Keith Lewis (District 1), re-elected Cynthia Able (District 2), re-elected Mitch Rabon (District 3), elected Bruce Honeycutt (District 9), and re-elected Tim Hopkins (District At Large) to their Board of Trustees.

Keith Bailey, Chairman of the Credentials & Elections Committee reported the results of the election which was operated by the Fairfield County Voter Registration & Elections Office. The election results were as follows:

 

District 1:                    Keith Lewis                            653 votes

                                    Dan Ruff, III                          184 votes

District At Large:        Tim Hopkins                           3358 votes

The annual business meeting concluded with the prize drawings. Reginald Strother of Columbia won the grand prize, a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado. Queen Lewis of Blythewood was the lucky winner of the 42-inch Husqvarna riding lawn mower. Rounding out the top-three prize winners was Erick Brown of Lugoff, who received a $500 credit on their electric bill.
