High School Juniors - Youth Tour set for June 9-14 - Apply today
Each year, local high school juniors are chosen to represent Fairfield Electric Cooperative on the Washington Youth Tour. The week-long all expenses paid educational trip gives students a chance to see government in action, visit historical sights and learn about electric cooperatives.
Fairfield Electric Cooperative’s four representatives will travel to Washington D. C with approximately 80 high school rising seniors from other South Carolina electric cooperatives. Once there, the South Carolina representative’s will join nearly 1,500 students representing cooperatives from around the country. This year’s tour is scheduled for June 9 - 14, 2018.
Fairfield’s Youth Tour representatives will be chosen on the basis of their school and community involvement, communication skills and knowledge about cooperatives.
In addition, the selected students are eligible to compete for the R.D. Bennett $5000 College Scholarship and compete for a position on the National Youth Leadership Council.
